Not such a strange idea as it sounds at first. Over the years, barn dances for corporate events have proved to be great for anything from greeting international guests and getting them mixed in with their U.K. counterparts, to starting off the first night of an undertakers' convention!
The informal structure, inclusive nature of the dancing and 'caller' acting as a 'master of ceremonies all help to blend disparate groups into helps into a single audience. Barn dances can get up to steam quite quickly, a couple of numbers and the event will be well under way without any long drawn out start - everyone is pitched into the deep end together.
You can use our sound system for presentations and awards, and our caller can help with this - and award prizes for the best costume if you are having a theme and asking guests to dress the part.
As with a regular dance, the band can also unhitch from the sound system to play an acoustic set of background music - great for a drinks reception, or to start building the mood as guests arrive. You can also use a barn dance as a pre-disco warm up. The same sound system is used to prevent disruption (and save you money), we have musicians who are also experienced DJs - able to provide a full disco show, complete with lights. You can select a playlist, specify a general style, decide to go with requests on the night or say which tracks you would like played (and which not!). It's all very flexible, and based on what you would like.
